What if we gave this shroud or protection in place of first strike, so that we can give first strike to Warrior of Tax/Spellbane Myrmidon? ---Seeonee Pro black? Pro red? I think white hates red more than black in this set, but there is already the Sunfeather guy that gets pro red. Is Awe too lame as a replacement? ---Gerrard's Mom Awe would have decent synergy, since he has vigilance to both attack and block. However, leaving him with first strike isn't too much of an issue; there are plenty of precedents for WW 2/2 creatures that *don't* have first strike. Even knights (of the Holy Nimbus). ---Seeonee I'm fine with whatever. ---Dragoon This card is in serious need of good flavor text. I think first strike and awe fit better on this card than the vigilance part. However, the art doesn't fit then. The griffin (is it really a griffin) sits rather still, which suggest it to be watching. That would fit vigilance better.
